Port Authority workers are fighting to keep their jobs, and they’ll be protesting Friday morning at the governor’s office in downtown Pittsburgh.

The workers are expected to rally on Sixth Avenue to protest the latest round of proposed cutbacks.

From there, they’ll march to Gov. Tom Corbett’s officer to deliver a pair of shoes. They said Corbett can give the shoes to a Port Authority transit rider who may have to walk more instead of riding the bus.

However, that's only if there are any more cuts in transportation funding.

The protest will happen before the Port Authority board meets about the proposed cuts. Union leaders are urging the state legislature to pass a new transportation funding bill as soon as possible.
